Lynn Michelle Sewards-Best

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lynn Michelle Sewards-Best on April 24th at Evergreen Home for Special Care with family and close friends by her side. Born in Kentville, she was the daughter of the late Danny and Lorraine (Walsh) Sewards and wife to the late Peter Best. Lynn will be greatly missed by her son, Aaron Sewards, Red Deer, AB; sister, Karen (Ed) Sewards-Copeland, Slave Lake, AB; and brother, Tony (Bea), Edmonton, AB. She was Nanny to three grandchildren, Adam, Jaxon and Rachel and two great-grandchildren, Peton and Nolan, all residing in Red Deer, AB; and Auntie Lynn to Bryce, Andrew, Kyle, Cody, Mark and Sarafina, as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Lynn had several hobbies over the years, most of them to do with crafting. She enjoyed flower arranging, tole painting, scrap booking, and her favourite thing of all, making cards. More than anything she loved her family and getting together for potlucks, Christmas parties and birthdays and was always the first one to volunteer to decorate. Lynn was full of personality and was always making a joke, if you met her, you would not forget her. She had several long-lasting friendships and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Lynn went to work for the Provincial Government right out of school in the assessment office, eventually working as an assessor until her retirement. As an active member of the community, Lynn held positions within several organizations. She was the President of the P.C. Women’s Association of Kings North for many years and worked on several campaigns. She was the President of the Kentville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a member and President of the Rebekah Lodge in Kentville, President of the Kentville Lions Ladies Auxiliary, a Beaver and Cub Leader and on the parents committee of the 507 Cadets in Kentville.

A special thanks to the nursing staff at Evergreen Home for Special Care who went above and beyond to make her last days as comfortable as they could and surround her with kindness. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Diabetes Association or a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
