Joseph Wayne Burgess

Joseph Wayne Burgess – 76, of Greenwich, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Valley Hospice, Kentville, surrounded by his loving daughters. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Joseph Kenneth and Edith (Stevens) Burgess.

Prior to retirement, Joseph was a transport truck driver for many years.

Joseph is survived by his children, Lisa Burgess-Carvalho (Helder Carvalho), Terri Burgess-Tambos (Chris Tambos) and Chris Burgess; their mother, Diana (McMillan), all of Toronto, ON; grandchildren, Christopher Wayne, Ashley Amanda, Joseph Alexander, Nicholas Anthony, Emily Alyssa, Joshua Ethan and Marcus Helder; great-grandson, Isiah; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Richard Burgess; and sister, Alice Avery.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Joseph’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. Donations in memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
