Cathy-Lu O'Rourke

Cathy-Lu O’Rourke, age 64, of Aldershot, passed away suddenly on April 29, 2024, at home. Born in Kentville, she resided the entirety of her life on McKittrick Road in Aldershot. Cathy was a daughter of the late Robert T. and Truth (Moore) O’Rourke. After high school, Cathy worked briefly in a day care. Her love of children carried throughout her life, being a part of her niece, nephew and great niece and great nephews’ lives. Cathy was a "trekky", but only for the original Star Trek series (with William Shatner), and loved her cats, Muffy, Thunder and Lightning. She is survived by her brother, Robert "Bob" O’Rourke, Aldershot; sister, Susan (Gerry) MacDonald, Dartmouth; niece, Celeste MacDonald (Ross Avey) and their children, Madison and Thomas; nephew Patrick (Kristina) MacDonald and their children, Kirk, Daniel and Waylon. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Daniel O’Rourke. The family would like to thank Cathy’s friends, Margaret Bently and Cathy Hirtle, cousins, Bonnie and Fred (Jr.) Bond, and cousins, Linda and Pat Boudreau for being such a special part of Cathy’s life. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service will be held in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to Diabetes Canada or the SPCA.
