Marie Eudavilla (Jones, Ring) Adams passed away surrounded by family on April 29, 2024. Daughter of the late Thomas and Marion (DeAdder) Jones of Blue Mountain, she is survived by her sister, Ethel Adams of Hillsburn, and by her children, Anna (Garry) Hiltz, Jeanette (John) Reeves, and Loran Adams (Wanda Huntley) of New Ross, NS, and Hope Ring (Mike Lewis) of Ottawa, ON.
Marie was a proud grandmother to Jenny (Kim), Michael (Jennifer), Matthew (Barbara), Brayden, Emilie (Ryan), Sara, Jim, and Maryanne; and a great grandmother to Emma, Riley, Gracie, Rachel, Audrey, Lilly, Isaac and Ethan. Over the years she was known as simply Nanny to many - Carson, Lisa, Devin and Georgia, to name a few. She was predeceased by her first husband John Ring of Victoria Beach, and second husband, Willie Adams of New Ross.
Marie was a passionate quilter, a scrabble enthusiast, and a fantastic cook and baker, known by family members and friends alike for her delicious pies and homemade donuts. She was treasurer of the Golden Age Club in New Ross for over two decades. An avid card player, she never missed the opportunity for a game of 45s. Always a hard worker, Marie had many jobs over the years, always working with the public. Whether she was ringing up a toy at the 5 to $1 Store, or serving ice cream at the Tasty Freeze, she always had a smile, a kind word and time for a chat. She will be deeply missed by all those who were lucky enough to know her.
Marie’s family would like to thank the numerous home care workers and care providers whose care allowed her to spend her final years at home in comfort and dignity. The family would also like to thank the staff at the Emergency and ICU departments at the South Shore Regional Hospital for their wonderful and compassionate assistance and care in Marie’s final days.
Arrangements are under the care of the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5th. The Funeral service will take place at Christ Anglican Church in New Ross at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6th. Rev. Dawn-Lea Greer officiating. Interment will take place in Christ Church Cemetery, New Ross, following the service. For those unable to attend, a video webcast will be available on-line on Tuesday, May 7th.
