G. Bernice Marie (Callahan) Osmond

1940-2024

G. Bernice Marie (Callahan) Osmond

G. Bernice Marie (Callahan) Osmond was born on September 15, 1940, in Botwood, NL to Marjorie and Andy Callahan. She was the eldest daughter of 10 children. She peacefully passed away on May 2, 2024, after bravely battling cancer for three months.

Following her high school graduation, she taught school in Windsor, NL. There she met and married the love of her life, Winston, and they began their love journey together. They are blessed with four children: Sherry Ward, Craig, Blaine and Lisa DeAdder; grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

In 1969, Bernice and Winston, along with their family, moved to Peterborough, ON, where Winston studied theology at EPBC. As a team, they began their ministry in Coboconk, ON in 1971. They served congregations in Middle Arm, NL (1972-1978), Gander, NL (1978-1982), Clarenville, NL (1982-1985), Kentville, NS (1985-1991), Kitchener, ON (2001-2007) and Scarborough, ON (2007-2020). Following Winston’s retirement in 2020, they took up residence in Mt. Uniacke, NS.

Bernice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Winston and her family were the pride of her life. Family gatherings and travelling were always cherished highlights. Alongside these joys, she found fulfillment in quilting, scrapbooking, shopping, cooking and baking. Her commitment to service extended beyond her family, as she selflessly supported ministry efforts by making significant contributions and offering sacrificial service. Bernice's compassionate nature shone through as she consistently prioritized the needs of others above her own.
