Bryant Green

Bryant Green – 96, of Kentville, NS, formerly of Deer Lake, NL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Born in Woody Point, NL, he was a son of the late Dr. Thomas Milton and Clarice Lily (Oldford) Green.

Bryant will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 70 years, Motee Louise (Manuel) Green; children, David (Reina), Port Williams, NS; Phyllis Barter, Mount Pearl, NL; Jane Green (Isaak Wall), Cowichan Bay, BC; Nancy Green, Vancouver, BC; and Alice Green (Graham Colwell), Wolfville, NS; grandchildren, Susan, Jamie, Judy, Tristan, Nicholas, Gerard, Alexander, Oliver, Sebastian, Jack, and Eli; great-grandchildren, Mara, Cassian, Emerson and Meline; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Bryant was predeceased by his parents and siblings: Thomas, Jean Eastman, Ivan "Bud", William, Clarice Hutchinson, Milton, and MacDonald.

Bryant and Motee began their courtship over 80 years ago when he would tie her skates and, together, they would skate to the music of the Skater’s Waltz: A fond memory they often shared.

One of Bryant’s greatest joys in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In his early years, Bryant worked as a photographer, ran a construction business with his brother Bud, worked with the Dept. of Highways and worked on the development and construction of the hydroelectric plant in Bay d'Espoir with Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro, with whom he continued to work until his retirement.

During his life, Bryant was very involved in community as a volunteer firefighter, chairman of the School Board and member of both the Kinsmen Club and Masonic Lodge.

Bryant was an amazing gardener and woodworker. He filled his home with many beautiful pieces of furniture and grew the biggest tomatoes in town.

Music was always a big part of Bryant’s life, especially classical, and he continued to enjoy listening to his favourite, Andre Rieu, during his time in hospital and care.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no service, but Motee would appreciate a call or visit. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Red Cross.  Online condolences and inquiries may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com.
