Patricia Ann "Patti" Matheson

It is with heavy hearts we announce the tragic passing of our mother, Patricia ‘Patti’ Matheson on May 8, 2024.

Patti leaves behind the true loves of her life, her children, Savanna (Evan) Leslie, Riley (Delaney Murray), and Roger Matheson, as well as chosen daughter, Aimee (Peter) Surmanowicz. Patti is also survived by her mother, Angela (Andrew) Nolan; her sister, Cheryl Matheson, and several cousins and close friends that were considered family.

Patti was predeceased by her father, Roger Matheson, and beloved family dog, Charlye; both of whom she missed very much.

Patti was a dental hygienist by trade, but her proudest title was Mr. Mom. She brought bright smiles to the world in many ways, through her work, but also through her witty sense of humour and loud infectious laugh. She was non-judgmental and always looked on the positive side of things, she marched to the beat of her own drum and was late to just about everything. Her door was always open, friends of her children can attest to that, and she didn’t hesitate to lend a hand to anyone in need. Patti enjoyed spending time in her home 'office' playing word games on her phone, one of which she had been playing for 10 years, has won many ‘tournaments’ and we’re confident she’s one of the few people they’re still releasing new levels for.

The world will not be the same without her here, the people who knew her will spend their lives mourning the great loss of her, especially her children. Know that Patti lives on through every kind and thoughtful act you do, and any infectious laugh you hear.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, at the family’s request. The funeral service (with livestream) will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. After which, you are invited to share stories and memories with the family over light refreshments.

As she gave in life, Patti also gave in death. In lieu of monetary donations, you are encouraged to become familiar with organ donation, something that brought some positivity to Patti's family in a dark time.
