Kirk Maurice Fraser

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kirk Maurice Fraser, 55, on Thursday, May 2, 2024 in Springhill. He is now reunited with his daughter, Maddison Cornelis Fraser who predeceased him at age 21 on July 8, 2015.

Kirk is survived by his granddaughter, Cali Mae Fraser of Yarmouth; his mother and father, Stewart "Stu" and Donna (Gilbert) Fraser; his three sisters, Kimberly (Richard) Ellsworth, Kelly (Mike) Jones and Krista (Scott) MacMillan, Kentville; as well as nieces and nephews, Stewart, Mackenzie, Allie, Kelsey, Spencer and Morgan.

Kirk enjoyed working for many years with his father, instructing safety courses, including drivers’ education, 55 – Alive, ATV safety, snowmobile, and watercraft safety under the umbrella of their company Opportunity Access Inc-Fundy Driving School.

For the past 21 years, he worked in the oil and gas industry in a wide variety of capacities, all of which were in the Safety, Quality Control & Occupational Health division meeting needs of the Canadian Utility and Review Board, Offshore Petroleum Board, Department of Labour Standards and Department of Energy and Work Safety. He was proud of his work and spoke highly of his crewmates and they highly of him.

Kirk had a passion for antique army jeeps that he shared with his father. They enjoyed collecting authentic pieces and proudly showcase them in parades and antique auto shows across the province. He loved his dog, "KC", who became a great companion for his mother when he traveled. Family will remember Kirk for his fashion sense, or perhaps lack of, he loved to collect and wear unique knee high socks, gifted from family members. Kirk often consulted with his mother for some of his favourite recipes, secretly, hoping she would prepare them for him, which she always did. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.
