It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Arthur Nelson Taggart, of Kentville, lets you know that he passed away peacefully in his sleep in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII Health Sciences Centre, on Sunday, May 26, 2024, as a result of a tragic accident. He was 85 years old.

Arthur was a lively character who was very active in the community. He was a member of the New Minas Baptist Church and was saved. He loved playing cards and going to jam sessions, cooking and making his famous homemade chili and of course, he loved motorbikes. He also spent a number of years working with the people of Open Arms, Kentville. When Arthur worked, he was the jack of all trades.

Left to mourn are his loving wife of 37 years, Margaret; daughter, Kimberly (Patrick), White Rock; son, Arthur Jr. (Alex), Halifax; sisters, Mary, Fennlyn Falls, ON; Elva (Glendon Forbes) and Laura, all of Parrsboro; Karna (Gordon Parlee) Maccan, NS; brothers, Nelson (Trudy), Parrsboro; Gorden, Fredericton; Ivan (Violet), Centreville, NB, and their girls.

Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service and reception will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in the Kentville Baptist Church, Reverend Daniel Cormier officiating. A livestream of the service will be available on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Interment will take place in the East Halls Harbour Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Halifax Infirmary – QEII Health Sciences Centre for the kindness and care shown to both Arthur and his family over the past few weeks. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
