Mary "Marie" (Glenn) Parks
1934-2024
Mary "Marie" (Glenn) Parks – 90, of Coldbrook, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at her home. Born in Lower Cove and raised in Minudie, she was a daughter of the late Lorne and Margaret "Mazie" (Cormier) Glenn.
Prior to retirement, Marie was a certified nursing assistant at the BFM Hospital, Kentville. Marie was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for many years, holding the rank of Worthy Grand Matron. She also volunteered with Kentville Minor Hockey. Marie enjoyed crafting, knitting, ceramics, painting, crocheting and cross-stitching. Above all else, she loved time with her family and friends, especially at the cottage in Scott’s Bay.
Marie is survived by her sons, Danny (Christine), Kentville; and Tim (Meredith), Forest Hill; daughters, Glenda Milner, Margaretsville; Sharon (Bob) Rockwell, Chipman Brook; and Valerie (Chris) Munro, Sylvan Lake, Alta.; sister, Gertrude Glenn, River Hibert East; sister-in-law, Gretchen Lyons, Coldbrook; grandchildren, Lorne Milner, Geremy Milner, Violet Schofield, Ezra Parks, Robert Parks, Amy Rockwell, Chet Rockwell, Kyle Munro, Samantha Munro; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Gerald Parks (July 16, 2023); and son-in-law, Bruce Milner.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 2 with an Order of Eastern Star service starting at 6:00 p.m. The funeral service (with a livestream available) will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3, also in the White Family Funeral Home with a reception to follow. Interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery.
