Keith Henry Gibbon
1941-2024
Keith Henry Gibbon passed away on June 3, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Maureen; children, Brian (Susan), Falmouth and Kim (Dan Holden), Spokane, WA; four grandchildren, Heather, Sarah, Taylor and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joyce (Ordway), Vermont.
Keith was an active member of the St. Joseph’s church as a Eucharist Minister and gave his time to help the less fortunate. He made a Cursillo and participated in many teams. He was a COR Dad. Many special, lifelong friendships were born from these events. He was born in Montreal and moved to Nova Scotia in 1971, settling in the Valley in 1975. He built the family cottage on Aylesford Lake which later became their home. Many fond memories of family, friends and neighbors were created. He had a successful sales career in power transmission, lifting and motion control products. Retiring from Columbus McKinnon in 2006. Keith will be remembered for his genuine kindness, generosity and enjoying life to its fullest with family and friends.
In keeping with Keith’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass (with livestream), followed by a reception, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024 in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville, Father John MacPherson officiating. Interment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. The family is deeply grateful to the staff of Valley Regional Hospital Medical Ward B for their care and compassion in Keith’s final days.
