Eric Harold Jones

1948-2024

Eric Harold Jones

Eric Harold Jones, of Cambridge Station, born the 4th day of July 1948, son of the late Arthur Gordon and Vera Frances (Sterns) Jones of Guysborough NS, met his Lord and Saviour face to face on July 5th, 2024. He lived his final days on earth surrounded by his large family and many wonderful friends. Linda, the love of his life by his side for more than 54 years, was his partner and co-adventurer. They raised six children together, and their love, commitment, and service to one another was an inspiration to all who knew them. Aboard their boat, the Debbie Fina, and by land on the Journey, they travelled and gathered so many amazing friends in Pennsylvania, Florida, and all across Canada and the US. They always took the time to stop and share a meal, game, and a good laugh. Eric, with his quick smile, warm hug and the ability to tease just about anyone, made him so loved and cherished by all who knew him. He put his faith and trust in Jesus many years ago, and his life was a testament to the goodness and faithfulness of God. Eric was such a good example of what loving God and loving others looks like. He was sacrificial, servant hearted, loving, patient, kind and honest.

Eric is deeply missed by his wife of 54 years, Linda Jones (Walker), Cambridge Station, NS; son, Trevor (Laura) Jones, grandchildren, Natalya, Samantha, Honour, Lennoxville, QC; son, Eric Todd (Carrie) Jones, grandchildren, Nicholas (Emilie), Ethan, Owen, Casey Corner, NS; son, Tyler (Bonnie) Jones, grandchildren, Cadel (Sara) (great grandson Judah Eric), Nathaniel (Kayla), Elias (Annika), Rachel, Gideon, Grace, Canning, NS; daughter, Teresa (Matthew) Mayich, grandchildren, Kiel, Esme, Kentville, NS; daughter, Tarina (Tom Beveridge) Jones, grandchildren, Cory, Destiny (great granddaughter Ella), Emily, New Minas, NS; daughter, Tracey (Michael) Tooker, grandchildren, Angel, Ryan, Cody, Isaiah, Kentville, NS;

Survived by his brother, Gordon Jones, Calgary, AB; sister, Bernice (Sandy) Tate, New Glasgow, NS; and predeceased by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Burt and Nancy (Kilcup) Walker, many brothers and sisters-in-law, extended family members, a grandson in infancy, Lyno Jones-Hiltz, and his special nephew, Donald Jones.

A special thanks and much appreciation, to Dr. Gunn and Karen, the fine people at the oncology and palliative care department, Susan and the VON, who took their precious time to help in so many ways.
