Larry S. Alcorn

1968-2024

Larry S. Alcorn

It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Larry S. Alcorn of Porters Lake, on Sunday July 28th, 2024. Son of Lawrence and Susan (Conn) Alcorn, he was born on December 29th, 1968, in Calgary, Alberta.

Larry grew up in Cole Harbour and attended Cole Harbour District High School. After High School, he worked for Shoppers Drug Mart for many years, first as a Merchandiser and Receiving Clerk, and moving up through the ranks to Store Manager. His easy personality, and gentle smile made him a favorite with staff and customers. It would be there that he would meet a special woman, who later became his wife. He eventually left Shoppers for a new opportunity and new role with AMCA Sales & Marketing where he continued to excel.

Larry was a dedicated husband and loving father to his two sons. From his nightly walks with his young boys, weekly Saturday Swims, to supporting them in their chosen sports, these were some of his favorite ways to spend time with them. His home had an open-door policy for any friend of his sons, and you could often walk in on a large crowd of kids hanging out, with Larry comfortably in the thick of it. Fatherhood was one of his greatest joys.

Larry was also a loyal and compassionate friend and will forever be remembered for his outgoing personality, kind spirit, mischievous smile and great sense of humor.

Larry is survived by his son, Steven (Morgan) Alcorn; brother, Brett (Jenny) Alcorn; nephews, Nathan, Gabe and Brady Alcorn, and partner, Karen Kenalty.

Larry was predeceased by his wife, Kimberly (Lawrence) Alcorn; mother, Susan (Conn) Alcorn; father, Lawrence C. Alcorn; and beloved son, Brandon L. Alcorn.
