Christopher Leonard Moore

1963-2024

Christopher Leonard Moore

Christopher Leonard Moore, 61, of Kentville, left this world surrounded by his family on August 9, following a courageous 2.5-year battle with Glioblastoma.

Chris was the beloved youngest son of nine children born to the late Richard "Dick" and Barbara (Gee) Moore, who he was a companion to, and helped care for during the last years of their lives.

Chris was the husband and best friend of Susan LeGard; cherished father of Brittany (Clark), York, Western Australia and Jesse (Rae), Berwick, Nova Scotia; adored grandfather of Eliza, Forrest, Ruby, Atlas, and Emilia. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he was their beloved grampy. They gave him the fighting spirit he needed to joyfully live beyond expectation.

Chris had a strong work ethic and began working at Michelin Waterville at the age of 21 and remained an employee for the rest of his life.

A wild spirit and zest for life, Chris lived life to the fullest. He loved music (played a mean harmonica), sports and the outdoors; was a skateboarding enthusiast, skilled hockey player, avid fisherman and hunter, much of which he passed on to his family. Summers were spent camping, attending music festivals, gardening, and foraging. He found peace in nature and near water, spending treasured time with his family and close friends at his camp on Crooked Lake.

As we learn to live without him, the missing pieces in our hearts will forever remind us of our incredible love for him and the memories we will carry for a lifetime.

We extend our deepest love and gratitude to all who stood alongside Chris and us over the last few years.

Special thanks to Drs. Gunn, Segato, Ross and McNeil, the VON, and the Valley Hospice for the high-quality and compassionate care provided to Chris.

You are invited to join us for a family friendly celebration in honor of Chris at the Kentville Fire Department Auditorium at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024. We would love it if you could bring a photo of you and Chris to be added to our memory album - the older (or younger) the better.

We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of dad be made to the Valley Hospice Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
