**UPDATE: - THE FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 P.M.**

Neil Olsen Aptt, 79, of Berwick, passed away at home, New Visions Special Care, on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Murray and Thelma (McCaul) Aptt.

Neil was a quiet, kind man with great sense of humor. He attended Shelburne Regional High School before eventually moving to the Annapolis Valley where he resided at New Visions for the past 32 years. He loved rowboat fishing, trying his luck with lottery tickets, listening to Hank Snow songs, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandparents, Ethel and Jim Aptt, in Victoria Beach.

He is survived by his brother, Philip (Diane); half-brother, Frank Hayden; half-sister, Pansy Townsend; nephews, David (Nancy) Aptt, Philip Jr. (Melanie) Aptt, and Howard Townsend; nieces, Barbara (Russell) Attwell and Becky Townsend.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Wayne; half-brother, Ronald Hayden; and half-sister, Frances Kent.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Pauline at New Visions for taking such excellent care of Neil, especially during the last month. In keeping with Neil’s wishes, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2024 in the Berwick Baptist Church, Berwick, immediately followed by a reception. A private family interment will be held in Habitant Cemetery, Canning. Donations in memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of one’s choice.
