Bruce Alexander Wile

Bruce Alexander Wile – 77, of New Minas, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Liverpool, Queens Co., he was a son of the late Robert and Ellen (Estrabrook) Wile.

Bruce graduated from Erie Technical Institute in New York. In 1970, he opened Bruce A. Wile Optician Ltd. in Kentville, later adding offices in Windsor and Annapolis Royal. Bruce donated his time teaching and mentoring in the Optician education program. He also served as President of the board of Nova Scotia of dispensing Opticians for two terms.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce (Muir); daughters, Jillian Wile and Julie (John) Wissman; and grandchildren, Colton, Brianna, Chase and Wyatt.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Bruce’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
