Gary Eugene Dearman
1947-2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Eugene Dearman, age 77, of Kentville, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at home. Born in Windsor, Gary was a son of the late Medford and Bernice (Smith) Dearman. Gary had a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to those he worked with and for. He was employed with Weavexx and worked for many years in construction, as a foundation specialist and heavy equipment operator. He was proud to serve as a union representative and an active Labour Council representative, advocating for the rights and well-being of his fellow workers. Gary was an avid outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed, camping, hunting and fishing. He was proud to be 30 years sober and his legacy of hard work, loyalty, and dedication to others will live on in all who knew and loved him. Gary will be lovingly remembered by his son, Bradley "Brad" (Samantha), Greenwood; daughter, Jeri (John) Malone, of Cambridge; siblings, Beverly "Bev" Redden (Bruce), South Alton; Wendy Lynn Fitzgerald (Fred Reeves), Cambridge; Cheryl Bond, Bridgewater; and Bruce (Lisa Steele), Alberta. Six grandchildren, Cooper, Savanna, Brittani, Colton, Jessie and Billy; three step-grandchildren, Kristie, Jennie and Jeffrey; three great-grandchildren, Booker, Gaige and Kaleb; three step great-grandchildren, Ruby, Nova and Felix. He is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Connie Lloyd; his brother, Garth, and his beloved niece, Nikki Tait. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25th, Reverend Virginia DeAdder officiating. A burial will take place in the Cambridge Cemetery. Donations in Gary’s memory may be made to the Purple Peacock or Open Arms. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
