George LeRoy Stevens

1950-2026

George LeRoy Stevens

George LeRoy Stevens, 75, of Port Williams, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 13, 2026. Born in Kentville on June 5, 1950, he was a son of the late Alfred Kitchener and Carrie (White) Stevens.

George is survived by his children, Kenneth George Stevens, Angela (Danny) Brawn, Michelle (David) Eagle, Danny Robert (Chanda) Stevens. Grandchildren, Keagan, Olivia, Devon, Shamus, Mackenzie, Kennedy, Kitchener, Amaya, Sienna, Michayla, Ashton, Austin, Riley, Raiden. Great granddaughters, Miss Ruby May and Miss Isabella Maeve. Sisters, Carol (Stewart) Brothers, Barbara Quesnel, Gloria (Kenneth) Johnson, Sylvia O’Brien, and Patricia (Peter) Upshaw; and brothers, Terry (Linda) Stevens, Brian (Tina) Stevens, and Rickey (Madonna) Stevens; many nieces and nephews.

Dad dedicated many years of hard work and commitment to Hostess Foods/Frito-Lay, where he built lasting friendships and took great pride in a job well done. He later retired from Kent Building Supplies, where his strong work ethic and friendly nature was appreciated by both his work family and loyal customers. In addition to his career, he served with honor as a former member of the West Nova Scotia Regiment, carrying with him a deep sense of duty, loyalty, and community throughout his life.

Our dad was a loving son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and most importantly, a devoted father. His four children were his greatest blessings, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren were truly the joys of his life. Dad had a huge heart. He carried so much love for his family and friends, and he made sure each and every one of them felt that love in their own special way.

Back in the day, Dad loved playing softball, broomball, hockey, anything that had to do with sports. As you all know, he was an avid outdoorsman who wholeheartedly loved hunting and fishing, especially when he could do it alongside his family and his best buddies.

If Dad wasn't hunting, fishing, or spending quality time with the people he loved most, you could always find him searching for a good deal at Value Village. A place he truly enjoyed and where he made so many connections.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Allen (Carole) Stevens, Laurie Stevens, and William Stevens; brothers-in-law Richard "Rick" Quesnel and Peter O’Brien.

On behalf of Dad's family, we would like to extend a special thank you to Trevor and Briana from White Family Funeral Home for their kindness, heartfelt words and unwavering support during this incredibly difficult time.

An honorable mention also goes to his AA family for the love and support they have shown over the years. Dad formed many meaningful friendships through the program and was proud to sponsor and support so many along their journeys. The bonds he built there meant so much to him, and the friendships he made were truly special.
