Donna Lee (Robinson) Cail-Wallace

1947-2026

Donna Lee (Robinson) Cail-Wallace

Donna Lee (Robinson) Cail-Wallace, 78, of Canning, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Born on December 10, 1947, in Moncton, NB, Donna was a daughter of the late Clark and Gladys Robinson.

As a scared new bride, she bravely left Moncton for Atlanta, Georgia, beginning a life of adventure that would take her around the world. From watching Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. speak at Ebenezer Baptist Church on February 4, 1968, from her office window, to touching the stones of Stonehenge, riding camels to the pyramids of Egypt, dancing on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, welcoming Saint Patrick’s Day in Ireland, and walking beaches across the globe, Donna embraced the world with curiosity and courage. Portugal held a special place in her heart, and she returned there many times. No matter how far she traveled or what wonders she experienced, Scots Bay remained her favourite beach to walk and her favourite sunset to soak in.

Donna was creative and connected to the universe. She was a very talented rug hooker. Watching her visions come to life with colour, sweat and love brought us and many others joy and comfort. Her rugs will continue to bring us joy and comfort in the days and years to come. To her rugs hooking sisters, Judy and Debbie, your friendship was very important to our mother. Thank you for all the talent and love you shared.

Our mother served the Valley for 20 years as a real estate agent. She was very successful and wore many hats in that role. From owning a company with her late husband, Samuel, to management at Central Guaranty, to Century 21 where she specialized in mentoring young agents. She also made many friendships and connections that she cherished years after retirement. Darlene Steves, you filled my mother’s life with a true sisterhood love.

After retirement she couldn’t stay still. She found fulfillment cooking for seniors, including the senior’s group in the Bay, working at Jordan’s in Canning and spending time with Sereena, Isabelle and Judith.

She was always up for an adventure, from NASCAR Nanny to thrill rides at Disney to kissing the cod in Newfoundland. Our mother may have looked to live a simple life, that is far from true.

She was mother to Thomas Cail (Leonardo), Joshua Cail (Angela), and Sarah Viconi (Federico). Donna took immense pride in her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren, Cameron Nickerson (Anne), Wesley Nickerson (Brina), Myah Nickerson (Connor), Brendan Cail (Brooke), and Andrew Cail. Her grandchildren were a constant source of joy in her life. She also had a special connection to her "chosen family", Brian and Alena. You treated our mother like she was your own, and she loved you like you were hers.

Our mother enjoyed life, knowing every minute was a gift. She lived without much regret and loved her family with all she had. She said almost every time we parted ways, "you know if I died tomorrow, I would die a very happy woman". Our mother was not afraid to die; she referred to it as going home.

Although our hearts are heavy, we can only be sad for the huge hole she left behind, because we know, she is now the most beautiful white light that will blanket us through these hard times and rejoice with us in the good times.

In keeping with Donna’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, June 21st from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Scots Bay Community Hall.
