Gerald Wayne Veinott
31 December 1940 – 4 March 2026
It is with great sadness I am sharing the passing of my husband, Gerry, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville after a brief illness. Born in Berwick, NS he was the son of the late Ralph Veinott and Frances (Graves) Veinott. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Phyllis (Pond); his sister, Joyce (John) Eggleston, Trenton; and nieces, Brenda (Denie) and Karen (Stephen) all of Kingston.
Gerry was a story teller and loved to share them with his coffee buddies along with his jokes. Laughter was the key to most of his stories. Gerry sailed on the H.M.S. "Bounty" before enlisting in the RCMP academy where he served for 35 years. After retirement we enjoyed many years of travel where we met lots of good friends everywhere we stopped.
I want to thank Dr. R. Gunn for his years as our family doctor. Also a special thanks to the attending doctors and nurses at the Valley Regional Hospital.
In keeping with Gerry’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place in North Kingston Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gerry may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
