Lorraine Louise (Creemer) (Burns) Gariepy
Lorraine Louise (Creemer) [Burns] Gariepy - 74, of Hamilton, Ontario, formerly of Kentville, Nova Scotia, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in Strathroy Hospital.
Born in Nova Scotia, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Milton and Bessie Creemer. She was a loving and devoted wife to Lorimer for over 40 years, with whom she shared three children; she was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many.
Lorraine is survived by her second husband, Arthur Gariepy; her three children, Jeff (Christina) Burns; Paula (Darren) Milarchuk; and Anna (Sean) Chesney; all of Ontario; her brother, James Creemer of South Alton; seven grandchildren, Meaghan (Dane) Kenney; D.J. and Justin Milarchuk; Liam and Wyatt Chesney; all of Ontario, and Steven and Mark Burns, of England; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Special mention to Nancy Griffiths, who was a lifelong friend of Lorraine’s, her friendship was a steady and precious companion over the years. Also, to David and Libby Burns who both held a very special place in Lorraine’s heart, their time spent together over the years was truly cherished by Lorraine, you both touched her soul. Lorraine had a special bond with Bev (Burns) Everett, forged from being sisters-in-law, their talks and time spent together made some special memories for Lorraine.
Lorraine was predeceased by her first husband, Lorimer; several siblings, Garnet; Sandra Pearl; Robert; Lorna; George; Harry; Verna; Joyce, and Lorraine’s twin brother, Loran; and a grandson, Jessie Milarchuk.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2026, in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, with Reverend Virginia DeAdder officiating. There will be a reception at the South Alton Hall at 5 p.m. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County, Nova Scotia. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
