Wanda Louise Harding

Niagara Falls, Ontario - Peacefully, with her family by her side at the Niagara General Hospital, Wanda Louise Harding passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the age of 72. 

Wanda will be sadly missed by all including her partner, John Cote. 

She was a loving mother to Roxanne (Chris) and Byron (Megan); and a devoted grandmother to Ty, Kohen, Olivia, and Ryker. 

Wanda will also be fondly remembered by her sister, Eunice; twin sister, Wilma; sister-in-law, Ann, and extended family. 

Wanda was predeceased by her parents, William Misner and Louise Misner (Morley Brown); her brothers, Lawrence and Aldrich Misner, Gary Brown; and sisters, Thelma Fanning and Ardythe Arnold. Her previous husband Byron Harding and best friend Val. 

Born and raised in Woodville, Nova Scotia, Wanda moved to Niagara Falls and started a family.

While being a mom she studied at night to become a Nurse. While working in the Hospital she recognized the need for specialized long term Alzheimer patient care. Wanda opened up Nimigon Retirement Home where her and her team provided specialized cared for over a hundred individuals and their families. 

Following that successful venture Wanda continued as an entrepreneur. Owning Tanarama in Niagara Falls and Townline Tanning in Cambridge. 

Wanting to give back to the community, she became a part owner of the Chippewa RiverHawks Junior "C" hockey club, focusing on fundraising to ensure the team had safe transportation provided to all away games. 

After retiring on Super Bowl Sunday, Wanda enjoyed watching sports including her New York Giants.

While dealing with years of illness Wanda found comfort in seeing her grand children grow up.

Those who knew Wanda will remember her as a loving, strong-willed, generous, and spirited woman. Her warmth, strength, and caring nature left a lasting impression. 

Though she will be deeply missed the memories she created with her family will live on. 

Wanda had two favorite sayings -

"Don't get too busy making a living, that you forget to make a life"

And,

"Whatever happens at grandma's, stays at grandma's. 

On October 10, 2026, A Celebration of life will be held at Grand Central Sports Bar and Grill at 4573 Queen Street from 2 to 4 p.m. 

In memory of Wanda, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
