Jeneive Joann Avery

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Jenny (nee Schofield, then Lynch) Avery (80) at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on July 7, 2026. Born March 2, 1946. She was the daughter of Joseph and Beatrice (nee Patterson) Schofield of Baxters Harbour. Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Dean (Janet) Lynch of Pennfield, New Brunswick and Dale (Andrea) Lynch of New Minas, Nova Scotia, her grandchildren, Jordan, Brianna, Alex and Connor Lynch and Great Granddaughter, Fae, all of Nova Scotia, her sisters, Shirley Lightfoot of Windsor, Nova Scotia and niece, (who thought of Jen as a sister) Wendy Schofield of Glenmont, Nova Scotia, and brother, Lloyd (known as Buddy) (Brigitte) Schofield of Vancouver Island, British Columbia; several nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her soul mate and first love Clyde Lynch who passed away in 1985 at the age of 41, her second husband Bernard Avery who passed away in 2023 at the age of 77, her sisters Joan and Helena, and her brother Paul, as well as her brother in laws Chester & Harry and nephew in law Calvin. 

A social person with a big heart and generous soul, she wore many hats over her lifetime. She worked in construction with Clyde building houses, then running a local grocery store with Clyde and later working in a bakery. After marrying Bernard, she moved to New Brunswick where she worked in hospitality before finishing her career at the local hospital in 2013. In 2019 she moved back to Nova Scotia to be near her grandchildren. 

Per Jen's wishes she has been cremated and a burial will take place at a later date at Elm Grove Cemetery in Steam Mill, Nova Scotia. 

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada.
