Earl Basil Beach … 77, of South Alton, Kings County, passed away
Wednesday, December 17, 2008 in the Valley Regional Hospital,
Kentville. Born in South Alton, he was a son of the late Maurice and
Lotta (Ells) Beach. He had been employed with E. J. Twohig for many
years and was later self-employed for 25 years in the backhoe
business, from where he retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and
especially enjoyed music. He was proud to have sung at over 50
different establishments, including churches, fire halls, legions,
fundraisers and benefit concerts. He is survived by his wife of 55
years, the former Grace Medicraft; a daughter, Gail, and husband,
Bruce Veinot, North Alton; two grandchildren, Scott and wife, Cathy,
Halifax and Laura and husband, Brian Leahy, North Alton; three
sisters, Vera (Frank) Burns and Janie (Henry) White, Upper
Kennetcook; Mabel (Raymond) Singer, Kennetcook; two sisters-in-law,
Estelle, South Alton and Roberta, New Minas; four brothers, Charles,
New Minas; Walter, Odessa, Ontario; Henry (Millie), Upper Kennetcook;
Clyde (Frances), Kennetcook; several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by four brothers, Harry (1996), Theodore (2000), William
(1986) and Stanley (1971); a sister, Grace (1996); brother-in-law,
John O’Toole (1996); sisters-in-law, Verna (2003) and Helen
(2002). Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, December 19,
2008 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral
service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008,
Reverend Quincy Collins officiating. A private family burial will take
place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Family
flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the South
Alton Baptist Church, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia
or the Lung Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
