Richard Bethune "Dick" Foster

Richard Bethune “Dick” Foster - 79, of Waverley, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in Bissett Court (Shannex), Dartmouth. Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late John and Nora (Lightfoot) Foster. Dick served with the Royal Canadian Navy and was later employed with Air Canada. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and woodworking, especially carving ducks. He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Hale; a foster son, James (Brenda), Truro Heights; a sister, Pauline Church, Ottawa. He was predeceased by three brothers, Malcolm, John and Lyle. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2010 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Doctor Randy Crozsman officiating. Burial will take place in the Cambridge Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or your local S.P.C.A. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
