Heston Louis Croft - 77, of Gaspereau, Kings County, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Greenfield, Kings County, he was a son of the late Orley and Maggie (Fenton) Croft. He began his plumbing career with Western Plumbing and Heating and H. B. Mitchell Limited. He then began his own business, Valley Fuels Limited, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Gaspereau Fisherman’s Association and enjoyed square net fishing on the Gaspereau River. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially walking, hunting, snowmobiling and spending time at the cottage at Little River Lake. He is survived by a daughter, Charlyn (Chris) Webster, Cambridge; two sons, Alan (Cindy), Little River Lake; Peter (Beverly), New Minas; a sister, Verna Spidle; seven grandchildren, Micayla, Stephen, Nicole, Lacey, Kevin, Melissa and Marlee; two great grandchildren, Carla and Dakota. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Dawn Jodrey; three sisters, Elizabeth, Clarice and Edith; three brothers, Harold, Lloyd and John. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in the Gaspereau Baptist Church, Reverend Mark Shaw and Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A private family burial will take place in the Gaspereau Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
