Gregory Allan "Greg" Griffin

Gregory "Greg" Allan Griffin - 59, of New Minas, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013. He is survived by his wife, the former Debra "Debbie" Anne Rogers; two sons, Cory Ashton Griffin (Katelyn Garvin), Halifax; Jeremy Michael Griffin, at home; his mother in law, Doris Faye Rogers, New Minas; two sisters, Crystan (Peter) Tellier, Port Williams; Tracey (Robert) Smart, Coquitlam B.C.; six nieces, two nephews, one great niece, and one great nephew. Besides his father he was predeceased by his brother, Leonard Doyle Griffin. Born in Wolfville, he was the son of Mrs. Helen Alberta (Durling) Griffin, British Columbia and the late Delbert Prosser Griffin. Greg was employed by Ross Music Sales for many years repairing all types of electronic and musical equipment including amplifiers, speakers, and keyboards. It was there where he first started to hone his skills mixing music for live events. His church organ repair work took him all over Nova Scotia. He could be seen at the mixing console at various musical events throughout Nova Scotia including Bluegrass festivals, Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival and many other musical venues. In 1996 Greg started his own business, Griffin's Audio Services providing all types of electronic repairs including sound systems, home theatre installations and audio production. When Greg was not working on the business he spent his time with his family. His passions throughout his life were family, music, especially Bluegrass, photography, and cars. Greg was a man of many talents and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He will be deeply missed by his family and those who loved him. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend David Ogilvie officiating. Donations in memory can be made to the Nova Scotia Bluegrass Association or the charity of your choice.
